Aubrey Newell ( A.N. "Boob") Little September 18, 1920 - October 26, 2007 A.N. (Boob) Little, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and long-time Mexia businessman, passed away in his home on Friday, October 26, 2007. He was 87 years old. A.N. was preceded in death by his parents Luther and Lena Little, his sister Audley Spurlin Dove, brothers Roy, Henry, and Sylvia Little. He leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years, Floy Mae Dossey Little of Mexia, his sons Lanny (Pam) Little and Mike Little of Mexia, his daughter Dianne (Ken) Dennis of San Antonio, seven grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. A.N. was born September 18, 1920, in the small community of Kickapoo, Texas, where as a baby he was given the nickname "Boob" from the comic strip character Boob McNutt written by Rube Goldberg. By the age of 10 he was sharing his voice with others at various singings across Limestone and Freestone counties, earning him the nickname of "The Limestone Kid." At the age of 15, he and his brothers started the Little Quartet and sang on a program on a Corsicana radio station. Mr. Little owned numerous Mexia businesses. In his most recent venture, started in the 70's, Mr. Little became a licensed real estate broker operating as A.N. (Boob) Little & Associates with his son, Lanny, until his retirement in 1984. After his retirement, Mr. Little originated the Jolly 60s program in Mexia that saw attendance up to 100, then moved to Groesbeck and started the program there with attendance up to 225. The Jolly 60s enjoyed monthly performances and trips as a group. Mr. Little continued to share his love of music with family and friends by playing his guitar and singing for various nursing homes across Mexia up until his last months of life. Mr. Little was a member of the Northcrest Church of Christ in Mexia, where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a man of strong character and faith, evidenced by his helping to establish the Westside Church of Christ in Mexia. He also led singing for numerous Churches of Christ over 65 years. A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, October 28th, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Blair Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia, and his funeral will take place at the Northcrest Church of Christ in Mexia on Monday, October 29th, at 10 A.M. Pallbearers are Jason Little, Ryan Reed, Rick Schell, Drake Thompson, Mike Willis, and Brady Wilson. The family extends a special thank you to the Mexia Providence Hospice for their loving care extended to Mr. Little during his final days.
