Ada Bolen

Ada Hodges Bolen, 94, of Coolidge, Texas passed away October 8, 2011 in Missouri City, Texas. Visitation will be at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home, October 10th at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be 10AM, Tuesday, October 11th at Blair-Stubbs Chapel. Ada was born June 26, 1917 to Jim and Hattie Hodges near Coolidge, Texas. She married Alvin Clinton Bolen on December 11, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1960. Ada worked at Peoples Telephone Company in Coolidge and later at the Mexia State School. She was a member of Northcrest Church of Christ in Mexia. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her four siblings, Rob Hodges, Lula Mae Wilson, Annie Strader and Roy Hodges. Ada is survived by her two daughters, Patsy Britt and husband, Jim of Missouri City, TX and Lesa McCann and husband, David of Lubbock, TX; five grand children, Lea Ann Shields and husband, Peter of Sugar Land, TX, Robert Britt and wife, Cheryl of Missouri City, TX, Vance Britt of Houston, TX, Ryan McCann of Denton, TX and Shelley McCann of Abilene, TX; five great-grandchildren, Joshua Britt, Jacob Shields, Ryan Britt, Hannah Britt and Mason Britt.
