Albert Dwain Thomason of Prairie Hill, Texas, passed away in Groesbeck on September 25, 2008. Family visitation will be at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia from 4 -6 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2008. Funeral services will be at Prairie Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Fred Sain will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Prairie Hill Cemetery. Mr. Thomason was born near Prairie Hill to the late Henry Hiram Thomason and Marie Montgomery Thomason and attended school in Prairie Hill and at Baylor University. During World War II he served in the 413th Signal Company, U. S. Army, from 1942 to 1946 in the Pacific Theater, with assignments in India and Okinawa. Following his military service he returned to the life he enjoyed as a farmer and rancher near Prairie Hill. He also served as Postmaster in Prairie Hill from 1971 until his retirement in 1999. He was a life-long member of the Prairie Hill Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaTrelle Webb Thomason in 2000; a sister, Martha Arons in 2007; three brothers, Hiram N. Thomason in 1926, George Franklin Thomason in 1991 and William Ross Thomason in 2003. He is survived by two daughters, Sonya Tucker and husband, Chris of Billington and Tonya Isom and husband, Jessie of Mexia; two grandsons, Jonathan and Cody Tucker of Billington.
