Albert York

Albert Newton York, 67, left his earthly home to be with his Lord, and other family members, in his heavenly home on February 18, 2015. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Wright officiating. Albert was born February 10, 1948 in Mexia, Texas to Louis Dee and Bernie Myrtle Briggs York. After high school, he went to work for General Dynamics in Fort Worth, then he returned home to work at Big Brown as pipe fitter. He also worked as a truck driver and in construction. Albert proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. While serving, he met the love of his life, Linda Theresa Keller and they married on January 17, 1970 in Norfolk, Virginia. They spent 39 years together raising their family, as well as horses, cattle and dogs, while living in the Kickapoo Community (Limestone County). They traveled to a number of states showing prize winning German Shepard dogs. Loving God, his family and working hard best describe Albert. He loved family gatherings, playing 42, working on woodwork projects and playing his guitar with his brother, Louis and others. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda York; daughter, Theresa Kay York; and brothers, Louis Harvey and Clarence Dee "Buzz" York.
