Aleghia Ann McMahon

Aleghia Ann Stone McMahon, of Mexia, was a loving wife, mother, mawmaw, sister, and friend. She passed away, peacefully, surrounded by her family on November 13, 2024 at the age of 70.

Aleghia was born to Dorothy Owen and Max Barrett on January 11, 1954 at Connally Air Force Base. She graduated from Mexia High School and started a family that grew far beyond her immediate family because of the kindness and love that she had for others. If she counted you as a true friend, then you were family. She will be missed by so many.

During the holidays, you could find her in the kitchen cooking and baking way too much food, but she never knew who all might stop by, because everyone was always welcome at Mama Aleghia’s. She enjoyed puzzles and crafts, playing games on her computer, spending time with loved ones and fussing at Marvin (somebody had to keep him in line).

She was preceded in death by her father, Max; mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Sonny Owen; and daughter, Tonya Maiden.

Aleghia is survived by her husband, Marvin McMahon; sister, Dottie Reeves and husband, Steve; brother, Luther “Bubba” Bright; daughters, Angela Fincher and Sandra Taylor; sons, Aubrey Brasher and wife, Bernadette and Kenneth Brasher; 11 grandchildren, Breyanna, Johnnie, Jordan, Hunter, Aaron, Ashton, Yzzabella, Freya, Bernalyn, Robelyn, and Kenny; three great grandchildren; and countless nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation with the family will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home, services will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Wayne Grabs officiating. Interment will follow in the Driver Cemetery in Freestone County. Michael Waters, Jordan Carroll, Aaron Taylor, Ashton Taylor, Allen Owen, Jose Rivera, and Johnnie Fincher will serve as pallbearers.
