Altha Hancock crossed over to her eternal home with her Lord, Jesus Christ on Monday, August 29th at the Skilled Care of Mexia.
Altha was an LVN, having received her training at Harris Hospital in Ft. Worth, TX. She worked for several years at the Wotham Hospital and Mexia Hospital. Later she worked as the school nurse for Coolidge. After her retirement she opened her home for childcare. She was known as "Meemee" by many in Coolidge.
She married the love of her life, Connie Mack on November 22, 1958 at the First Baptist Church in Coolidge, Tx. They welcomed two sons Benjamin Clyde in 1959 and James Edger in 1961.
Altha was proceeded in death by her grandparents, her parents, aunts & uncles, and her brother Connie McClinton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Altha is survived by her loving husband of almost 64 years Connie Mack Hancock, her sons Ben and wife Melinda Hancock of Eureka, TX; Jimmy and wife Marie Hancock of China Spring, Tx. Grandchildren, Kathryn and husband Ollie Hicks of Groesbeck; Laurynn Wedin of Lacy-Lakeview and Justin Hancock of China Spring. Great-Grandchildren Katlie Hicks, Brantley Pullin and Rhyett Hicks will be welcomed soon. Her Brother and sister-in-law Wendell and Beverly McClinton of Nashville, TN, her brother, Johnnie McClinton of Coolidge, TX and sister and brother-in-law, Don and Narciada Shipley of Pinesville, La. Also surviving Altha are many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Skilled Care of Mexia and Interim Hospice for taking such wonderful care of Altha.
