Memorial services for Andrew David (Red) McSpedden, 67 of Lake Mexia will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2006 in First Baptist Church , Point Enterprise. Rev. Bruce Rudd and Rev.Darrell Hatley will officiate. Mr. McSpedden was born May 6, 1938 in Corsicana to Raymond Howard McSpedden, Sr. and Iva Nina Phillips McSpedden and passed away on January 21, 2006 in Limestone Medical Center, Groesbeck. He received a full scholarship from TCU to play football and Bob Lilly was his roommate there. He was recruited his senior year by the Pittsburg Steelers to replace an all-pro that was retiring. He then signed on with the Dallas Texans who are now The Kansas City Chiefs. The New York Giants were trying to get him at the same time, but the Kansas City sign-on bonus was better. While playing for the Dallas Texans, he was in an automobile accident which ended his pro-ball career. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pt. Enterprise and Springfield Masonic Lodge. He retired from Lynn Adams Distributing Co. after 37 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Howard McSpedden, Sr. and Iva Nina Phillips McSpedden, and a brother, Raymond H. McSpedden, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Dixie T. McSpedden of Lake Mexia, daughter and Son in law: Debra Jo and Billy Don York of Mexia; grandchildren: Erica York, Ken David York and Joe Kyle York , and a brother, Joe McSpedden of Cape Charles, VA. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Ed Felz, Troy Miller, Sonny Adams, Marcus Wilson, Alan Ingram, Bert Lynn Harrison, Jay Gatlin, and Miles Skipper. Memorials may be made to Pt.
