Angela Faye Rogers Ross of Mexia, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2012. Funeral services will be held 2PM,Thursday, March 29, at Calvary Baptist Church in Mexia with Pastor Rick Gray and Rev. Michael King officiating. She will be interred at Point Enterprise Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia. Serving as pallbearers are Allan Ross, Willie Ross, Brian Thoele, Jacob Thoele, Colby Archibald, Robbie Robbins, Victor Luna, and Doug Kozak. Angela was born June 29, 1968, in Mexia, Texas. She was raised by her parents Lynn and Sue Rogers in Jewett, Texas, where she attended Leon ISD. Angela married her high school sweetheart, Robert Lee Ross, II, also of Jewett, on May 1, 2002. Angela earned her Bachelor's degree in English from Sam Houston State University in 2005. Angela taught English and journalism for 5 years at Mexia High School. She then took a position teaching English and journalism at Groesbeck High School, where she worked for the last year and a half. She was a dedicated and encouraging teacher who touched the lives of many students. Her passion for education and her desire to motivate and inspire her students set her apart in her profession. She was involved in numerous extracurricular activities and was an enthusiastic cheerleader on the sidelines for her students and her own children. Angela was a born-again Christian who loved the Lord and lived her life with zest and faith. Those who knew her and know her Savior look forward to seeing her again in Heaven. Angela was preceded in death by her father, Lynn Rogers, of Streetman, Texas. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Lee Ross, Jr., and her five children Lauren Elizabeth, Alexandra LeeAnn, Ellyn Margaret, and Olivia Faith Cannon and Jedediah William Ross; mother Billie Sue Rogers of Streetman; brother Jeff Rogers and wife Mia and nephew Conner and nieces Rebecca and Amanda of Spain; Uncle Dick and Aunt Pat Ross of Liberty Hill; cousins Brian and Keri Thoele of Groesbeck, Willie Ross of Mexia, and Allan and Amanda Ross of Liberty Hill; mother-in-law Charlotte Davis of Lodi, California; sister-in-laws Michelle Ramsey, and Crystal D'Angelo and husband Pete of Lodi, California, and Kenna Struthers and husband Doug of Portland, Oregon; and numerous other relatives. Angela is also survived by her school family, the staff and students that she loved dearly from both Mexia ISD and Groesbeck ISD. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Groesbeck Education Foundation, where a scholarship will be set up in her honor.
