Astol Thomas Lancaster, 94, of Teague passed away October 26, 2009 in Teague. Graveside services will be 2 PM, Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague with Rev. Jeff Powers officiating. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 PM Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church of Teague. Astol was born June 22, 1915 in Dew, Texas to Arthur Thomas and Annie Johnson Lancaster. He was a proud member of the 1935 Graduating Class of Teague High School. He married Doris Margaret Lancaster on August 29, 1937; they were married for 70 years. Astol retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad after 33 years of service. He was a Conductor. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Teague and was also a member of the Boggy Lodge #739. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers; and two sisters. Astol is survived by two sons, Terry Lancaster of Teague and Bob Lancaster and wife, Barbara of Glen Rose; two daughters, Penny Carpenter and husband, Don of Teague and Jill Harryman and husband, Jimmy of Groesbeck; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
