Barbara Glynn Stokes, 82, of Mexia, passed away December 20, 2013 in Corsicana, Texas. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2013 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Rick Gray and Rev. Michael King officiating. Interment will follow in the Pattison Cemetery in Emhouse, Texas. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Sunday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Barbara was born November 13, 1931 in Beaumont, Texas to Orvill Glynn and Sadie Faye Dunn Taylor. She worked in the administrative office at Six Flags, the IRS, was a Realtor for Century 21 and retired from Texas Power and Light's clerical department. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Barbara devoted her life to God and her family and friends. She was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Wayne Taylor. Barbara is survived by her husband, Curtis M. Stokes of Mexia; daughter, Brenda Gayle Scott and husband, Bill of LaGrange; granddaughter, Kimberly Chambers, Grandson, Jerrod Scott; great-grandchildren, Cody Scott and William Chambers; cousin, Audrey Fae Dunn; nephew, Mark Taylor and wife, Nona; great-nieces and nephew, Allison, Wayne D. Taylor, II and Jennifer; sister-in-law, Nona Taylor; step-sons, David Stokes and wife, Sue of Cleburne, Ronnie Stokes and wife, Betty of Corsicana, Cary Stokes of Springfield, MO and Kevin Stokes and wife, Lupe of Wiley; step-grandchildren, Scotty, Laurie, Ryan, Rene, Melissa; and four step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mark Taylor, Wayne D. Taylor, II, Jerrod Scott, Jess Whisler, Randy Teel and Scott Moore.
