Benjaman Clarence Reed, II

Benjaman Clarence “Ben” Reed, II passed away November 24, 2024 in Mexia, Texas at the age of 57. Benjaman was born May 8, 1967 in Waco, Texas to Benjaman Clarence and Mavis LaNell (Campbell) Reed. He called Mexia home, most of his life. At a young age, Ben began working for Lawrence Terry, a local contractor in Mexia, installing siding; he later worked as a carpenter.

Ben had an outgoing, friendly personality and a big heart. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His most memorable experience as a young man was fishing with his dad; however, he had the job of cleaning all the fish they caught, which wasn’t a part he particularly enjoyed. Ben enjoyed spending time visiting with friends and eating good food. He loved football and was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan.

Life wasn’t always easy for Ben, but he made the most of enjoying it to the fullest. He loved his Lord and Savior and knew He would get him through the rough times as well as the good times.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjaman and Mavis Reed; and brother, Ronnie Finch.

Ben is survived by his sister, who was like his second mother, Clarissa Ward and husband, Bobby of Mexia; brothers, Albert F. Finch and significant other, Joann of Plano and Everett O. Finch, II of Mexia, Texas; two nephews, Benjamin “Elex” Reed and wife, Cheri of Lott and Everett Anthony Finch and wife, Rosalina of Groesbeck; a niece, Lauren Armstrong and husband, Bodie of San Antonio; a special friend, Melissa Finch of Mexia; and numerous other friends.

A memorial service date will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 22,2024 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.
