Benjamin McFarland "Benny" Bradford, Jr., 82, of Mexia passed away August 19, 2011 in Waco, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the VFW Hall in Mexia with Mr. Neil Bond officiating. The public is invited to attend the service. Benny was born November 25, 1928 in Brunswick, Georgia to Benjamin McFarland and Isabelle Wilson Bradford. After graduating from Mexia High School, he attended Navarro College and North Texas University. Benny enjoyed interacting with people. He was employed by Wal-Mart as a Department Associate and Greeter. He was a helicopter mechanic in the U.S. Army while serving in the Vietnam War. He was a life member of VFW Post #4694, where he served as Jr. Vice-President. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Christeen Reed Bradford; sister, Vera Bradford Lehman; and brother, Wilson McFarland Bradford. Benny is survived by his sister, Tommie New of Mexia; four nieces; and four nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the VFW.
