Bessie Thomas

Bessie Lee Thomas, 97, of Shiloh passed away October 19, 2011 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 11AM, Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. David Snow and Mr. Neil Bond officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Bessie was born January 18, 1914 in Shiloh, Texas to Tom and Nora Woods McElroy. She was a life long resident of the Shiloh area. She spent her life raising her children and caring for her family. She, also, loved raising birds. Bessie was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Wallace Ainsworth and Jeff Thomas; children, Marietta Ann Bell and Garland Ainsworth; and siblings. Bessie is survived by six grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
