Betty Joyce Johnson went home to her Heavenly Father on July 12, 2018 at the age of 87. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2018 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Mr. Joe Manuel officiating. Interment will follow in the Coolidge Cemetery. Casey Jones, Chris Windham, Raymond May, Curtis Windham, Jamie Lewis and James Peltier will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Betty was born December 7, 1930 in Nocona, Texas to Harvey Allen and Vida Kimbell Foreman. She moved to Lake Mexia over 50 years ago, which was right down her alley as she loved to fish and, more importantly, loved to eat them. Betty was a strong woman and a hard worker, she worked in the oil field as a mud logger and a heavy equipment operator for 20 plus years in addition to raising four children. She also worked at the Mexia State School and as a nurses' aide for the Mexia Hospital. Her life revolved around her family, they were the light of her life, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty was loved by her family, friends and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy D. Johnson; brothers, James, Arnold, Stanley, Dan, Harvey, Harrold Foreman and twin infants; sisters, Ivy J. (Judy) Trimber and Arlie Hancock (Skip) Foreman. Betty is survived by her loving children, Sandy Russell and husband, Terry of Quitman, Michael Johnson and wife, Cheryl of Gatesville and Donna Jones of Lake Mexia; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Travers of Houston and Pat Williams of Waco.
