Betty Karen Shamblin

Betty Karen Shamblin, beloved Mother and Grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on July 26, 2024. Karen was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana.

She was born on May 29, 1948 in Groesbeck, TX. She graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1966. Karen later retired, after 30 years of service, from the Mexia State School. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph C. and Vada Mae Parker of Groesbeck; sister, Joy Nell Thomas of Jewett, TX; and nephews, Rick Thomas and Keith King.

Karen is survived by her husband, Tommy Shamblin of Mexia; daughters, Marla Wolfe and husband Tom of Spring, TX., Melanie Hemenway and husband Thomas of Fairfield, TX.; and Michele Allen of Robinson, TX.; grandchildren, Kole Klovanish of Big Spring, TX., Riley Allen and wife Madison of China Spring, TX, Chance Imhoff and wife Kirbie of Pasadena, TX., Jessica Valentin and husband AJ of Spring, TX., Tim Wolfe of Spring, TX.; also four great grandchildren, Slate and Silas Allen, Alexis Valentin and Sawyer Imhoff; sister, Linda Black and husband, Larry of Shiloh, TX.; and niece, Kristi Young and husband Robert of Shiloh, TX. 

Nana, as she was affectionately known, enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, shopping and going to casinos.

Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, July 28th, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2024 at the LaSalle Cemetery with Rev. Bill Wright, Jr. officiating. Thomas Hemenway, Tom Wolfe, Kole Klovanish, Riley Allen, Robert Young, and Jon Harrison.
