Billie Joyce Just Hardison passed away on June 8, 2011, after a brief illness, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2011 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Lost Prairie Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Billie was born June 19, 1936 in Fair Oaks, Texas to Walter and Lorene Killingsworth Just. She lived most of her life in the Mexia area. Billie attended and graduated from the Mexia High School in 1954. She also attended Navarro Junior College and was a member of the marching band at both schools. As a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mexia, Billie held several positions before declining health limited her participation in those capacities. In addition to her church activities, she was a longtime member of the Mexia Garden Club and The League of Arts and Crafts. Billie was employed, after college, by two different firms in Temple, Texas before joining the Mexia firm of Lone Star Textiles. She retired from this firm due to failing health and enjoyed more time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Hardison in 2007; her mother, Lorene Just in 1989; her father, Walter Just in 1991; and brother, Walter Dwayne Just, youngest of children. Billie is survived by her brother, Holly Just and wife, Ruby of Carrollton, TX.; nephew, Walter Just and wife, Sue of Flower Mound, TX; two step-nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Lawler of Carrolton, TX. and Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Lawler of Granbury, TX.; and several great-nieces and nephews. Billie leaves many friends as she was a longtime resident of Mexia.
