Billy Clyde Blanchard, 64, of Mexia passed away April 27, 2010 in Temple, Tx. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, April 30, 2010 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Interment will be in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Billy was born November 10, 1945 in Teague, Texas to Clyde and Earline (Alford) Blanchard. He graduated from Mexia High School in 1964. Billy immediately joined the U. S. Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He was a retired railroad conductor. He was involved in prison ministry, helped at the Life House and ministered in a number of other areas. Billy cherished his family and friends. He loved spoiling his grandchildren. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents. Billy is survived by his wife, Peggy Blanchard of Mexia; daughters, Kim Medlock and Pam McKinley and husband, Tavid all of Mexia; grandchildren, Ashley and Tiffany Medlock and Gracie and Trenton McKinley all of Mexia; sisters, Teresa Burkhart and husband, Bill of North Richland Hills and Barbara Rogers of Mexia; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Paul Barger, Paul Yeldell, Robert Pat Smith, Rollie Winfree, Vance Rose and Harvey Cox.
