Bobby Murphey

Bobby Glenn Murphey, 63, of Mexia passed away among family on the afternoon of February 27, 2011. A memorial service will be held in his honor at Blair-Stubbs Chapel at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Bobby was born in Mexia on April 16, 1947 to John and Irene Isbell Murphey. He was a lifelong resident of the Mexia and Forest Glade area. He graduated from Mexia High School in 1965. Bobby served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He had been an employee of Sunset Transportation in Jewett for many years. Bobby never met a stranger, always friendly to everyone. He had a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His character and loving nature will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Gloria Hobbs. Bobby is survived by his brother, John Garfield Murphey; four sons, Robert, John, Michael and Matthew Murphey; grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, David, Rylie, Rory and Parker; one great-grandson, Aidyn; and numerous other family and friends.
