Bobby Lee Sykes

Daddy Bobby Lee Sykes went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2023.  He was born in Dawson, Texas on December 14, 1940 to Albert and Birdie Mae (Shawn) Sykes.  He attended school in Dawson.  He worked in construction for many years and, later, worked for the VF Outlet where he retired.

Bobby was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger that he wasn’t willing to help.  His loved to play the guitar and many of his followers began calling him “Elvis”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Birdie Sykes; four brothers; and two sisters.

Bobby is survived by his devoted wife, Micki Sykes, four children, Larry Sykes and wife, Stacy, Debbie Fort, Nicole Sykes and Jordan, and Bobby Sykes, Jr. and wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Hagan and Isabella Sykes Sarah Robinson (Kendal), Justin Sykes, J. R. Camp, Madison Sykes, and Jerimah Sykes; sisters, Nelda Pendergraff and Gracie Hallmark.

Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, March 24^th at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Reverend Shane Norcross officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery.  Ronn Boney, Tommy Emmett, Ricky Norman, Jr., B. J. Emmett, Jerry Sykes, and Bill Jordan will serve as pallbearers.
