Bonnie Roberts

Bonnie Jean Roberts passed away at her home in Mexia on September 8, 2019 at the age of 90. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Wayne Blackshear officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery.

Bonnie was born October 11, 1928 in Shiloh, Texas to John and Margie Bell Shamblin Douglas. She lived in the Mexia area her entire life. Bonnie was a hard worker. She retired, just a few years ago, after 28 years of service with Walmart; a job she truly enjoyed.

Bonnie had a green thumb and loved working in her flower beds. She also enjoyed participating in fundraisers and other activities at the VFW. Bonnie was a longtime member of the Northside Baptist Church in Mexia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margie Douglas; two sons, Gene and Kenny Popp;
brothers, Buck and Junior Douglas; sisters, Pauline, Jenny Pearl, Mary Lou and Minnie Lee.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Margie Alexander of Corpus Christi, Calvin Popp of Mexia, Nancy Ridge of San Antonio, Cindy White of Dallas, Glenn Roberts and wife, Jennifer of Frisco; grandchildren, Bryan Popp, MaShon Fielder, Jenny Ridge, Tara Popp, Mandy Popp, Bailey Roberts and Braxton Roberts; and six great grandchildren.
