Willis Boyd Walpole, 78, of Mexia passed away August 14, 2013 in Mineola, Texas. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Bill Wright, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 10:00 -11:00 a.m., Saturday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Boyd was born February 19, 1935 in Tehuacana, Texas to Jetson Harold and Esma Cora Harrison Walpole. He worked for many years as an insurance salesman and maintenance supervisor for Southern Traditions Furniture Company. Boyd's favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed fishing; he and son, Ty John, took advantage of every opportunity to get away on fishing trips. Boyd was a man with a big heart, always giving to many charities and willing to help anyone. He had a friendly, outgoing personality and never met a stranger. Boyd's love for God was also evident in the way his lived his life. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his three children, Lisa Lynn, Becky Ann and Ty John Walpole; brothers, Charles Douglas and John Doyle; sisters, Nancy Joann, Mary Dee and Jacqueline Sue. Boyd is survived by his daughter-in-law, Terry Walpole; grandchildren, Raina Nicole Reeder and husband, Cameron and Mandi Lynn Stovall and husband, Jason; great-grandchildren, Chace Reeder and Cade Stovall; brothers, James Richard and Jetson Harold, Jr.; sisters, Martha Jean, Janie Louise and Jerry Jeanine; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Glenn Williford, Jason Stovall, Earl J. Herman, Wayne Bishop, J. E. Harrison and Roger Lyons, Jr.. Honorary pallbearers are Kent Yelverton, Mike Phillips, Roger Miller, Ron DeMosch, Ronnie Burrows and Bubba Walpole.
