Carolyn Jannette Talbot, of Mexia, passed away May 28, 2018 in Groesbeck at the age of 68. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Mr. Craig Tappe officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Ben Talbot, Justin Talbot, Warren Talbot, Dillon Dabney, Anthony Pruitt, St. and John Outland will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Carolyn was born April 7, 1950 in Tahoka, Texas to Clyde and Inez Cross Beasley. She grew up in Mexia and attended Mexia schools. She worked for Safeway for 11 years prior to retiring from the Mexia State School, after 21 years of service, as a Supervisor on the Martin Unit . Carolyn was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She looked forward to and enjoyed nothing more than having all her family together, that was the highlight of her life. Carolyn met everyone with a friendly smile, loved being around people and was a friend to many. She also liked gardening, traveling and going to the Shreveport Casino. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Danny Dwayne Pounder. She is survived by her husband, Gary Talbot of Mexia; daughter, Lisa Pounder of Waco; step-children, Ben Talbot and wife, Chrissy and Sarah Haynes and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Amber Pounder, Jessica Pounder, Danielle Pounder, Taylor Pounder, Jordan Hamilton, Kaitlyn Pounder and Nichelle Musick; sister, Ida Boyd; best friend, Ruth Ann Allen; and many nieces and nephews.
