Charles Elton Day, 84, of Shiloh passed away July 30, 2008. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008 in the Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honor Guards in the Prairie Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 7:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Mr. Day was born in Mexia, November 28, 1923 to Charles Mitchell and Pearly Jane (Azbell) Day. Mr. Day received a BBA from Baylor University in 1949. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. He had been an employee of Mexia Industrial Products for 35 years. Mr. Day, also, enjoyed working on his farm. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Day is survived by his wife of 65years, Edna LaVerne (Fortson) Day, son, Charles Galen Day and wife, Patricia Maurine of Mexia, and daughter, Gina Gail Crossley and husband, Waylen Glen of Teague; grandchildren: Michael Jason , Jeromy Alan and Alysha Michelle Donaho and Kala Briann Van Winkle; great grandchildren: Dallas Grace, Sierra Chyanne, Harley Jace, Heaven Lee and Jessica Lynn Donaho. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Ethan Fortson, James Fortson, Danny Ray Fortson, Kennen Jackson, Bill Davis and Al Davis.
