Colleen Hendrix

Colleen Loretta Hendrix, 82, of Saginaw, Texas passed away July 29, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mexia. Father Benji will officiate with interment to follow in the Mexia Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday, 12:30 - 1:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Colleen was born February 6, 1927 in Mexia, Texas to James Moore and Helen Cecilia (Ehly) Lauderdale. She graduated from Mexia High School in 1944, then persued an education in nursing and received her RN degree. Colleen was Director of Nurses at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Ft. Worth for 18 years. She retired from Vitas Hospice after many years of service. Although she enjoyed her nursing career, her family came first in her life. Colleen was a very devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents. Colleen is survived by two sons, Paul Hendrix of Ft. Worth, Tx. and Mike Hendrix and wife, Debbie of St. Louis, Mo; two daughters, Barbara Carroll and husband, Jesse of Orlando, Fl. and Nancy Wright and husband, David of Saginaw, Tx.; six grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jo Gross of Saginaw, Tx.; and one brother, Wilfred Lauderdale of Tulsa, Ok. Pallbearers will be Mike Hendrix, Paul Hendrix, David Wright, Jesse Carroll, Patrick McMullen and Tyler Lawrence.
