Mrs. Maria Concepcion Rodriguez, 85, of Mexia passed away Monday morning, May 4, 2015, in Mexia. Concha as she was affectionately known was born May 9, 1929 in Caldwell, Texas to Florencio and Bernada Hernandez Serna. She married Pedro Rodriguez in 1959 and he passed away in 2006. Concha was a loving wife and mother, a phenomenal cook with her famous dish being chicken and rice. Concha was very grateful and blessed with a special daughter-in-law, Tonya Rodriguez, who took care of her with great pride. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Daughter, Diana Maxwell, Son, Mark Rodriguez, grandchildren, Kevin Rodriguez, Brian Maxwell and Ashley Maxwell and by all of her siblings. Concha is survived by her children, Janie Zavala and husband, Lupe of Mexia, Peter Rodriguez and Janie of Pampa, Mary Stedman and husband, Michael of Memphis, TX, Isabel Carr and Husband, Lavocas of Mexia, Daughter-in-law - Tonya Rodriguez of Mexia, Grandchildren, Michael Garza of Mexia, Steven Rodriguez and Amy of Mexia, Krystal Alvarez and Jorge of Mexia, Jonathan Rodriguez and Cassandra Hernandez of Pampa, TX, Benjamin Rodriguez and wife Wenddy of Pampa, James Rodriguez of Memphis, Tx, Patrick Rodriquez of Memphis, TX, Devante Drew of Waco, Yesenia Maxwell of Mexia, Elizabeth Zavala of College Station, Brandi Rodriguez of Mexia, Damion Drew of Mexia, Jaci Rodriguez of Mexia, Dominique Rodriguez of Mexia, Jaiden Rodriguez of Mexia, Felicia Carr of Mexia, Maykayla Carr of Mexia. She is also survived by Great Grandchildren, Madison Rodriguez, Jaley Rodriguez, Emma Kate Rodriguez, Karla Alvarez, Jah'zyia Drew, Elijah Garza, Brian Jr., Maxwell, Aaden Maxwell, Oliva Hernandez, Kamron Rodriguez, Amillia Rodriguez and Aspen Payne Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Noon, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic with Fr. Justin Nguyen, celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mexia cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Rodriguez, Michael Garza, Devante Drew, Damion Drew, Benjamin Rodriquez and Jonathan Rodriguez. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 7:30 P.M. A Rosary will be held at 7:45 P.M. following visitation.
