Funeral services for Connie D. McClinton, 67, former Coolidge resident, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 22 in First Baptist Church in Coolidge with interment following in Coolidge Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Tom Young and Rev. Larry Holden. Mr. McClinton was born Dec. 19, 1938 to Clyde Evans and Mattie Lou (Webb) McClinton and passed away on August 19, in Canute, Ok. He was an ordained Baptist minister, Deacon, and Sunday School teacher in First Baptist Church of Coolidge, member of Coolidge Volunteer Fire Department and Mexia State School Fire department. He retired after 35 years as refrigeration mechanic for the Mexia State School and TYC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene McClinton in 2004; a son, Dean McClinton in 1998 and a granddaughter Kristie Mitchell in 2000. Survivors are his daughter, Annette Richards and husband, Roy of Coolidge, and Son, Norris McClinton and wife, Terri of Canute, Ok., grandchildren: Andrew Richards, Dustin Richards, Ashley Richards, Meghan Adams, Audrey Adams, Cody McClinton, Tiffany McClinton, Jacob McClinton, Jeremiah McClinton, Danielle Mitchell, John McClinton, great grandchildren: Bryce and Dawson McClinton, Brothers, Wendell McClinton of Nashville, TN, and Johnnie McClinton Of Coolidge, Sisters, Altha Hancock of Coolidge and Narciada Shipley of Waco, and Aunt, Laverne Fullerton of Hubbard. Pallbearers will be Randall Jacobs, Reagan Jacobs, Travis Brown, Raymond Wilson, Pete Kervin and Dr. Ric Bennett; Honorary pallbearers are John Ogilvie and Charlie Finley.
