Graveside services for Curtis Eugene (Gene) Van Winkle, 56 of Shiloh Will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007 in Shiloh Cemetery. Mr. Neil Bond will Officiate with interment following in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday night at Blair- Stubbs Funeral Home. Mr. Van Winkle was born on January 29, 1951 in Mexia to Curtis and Mary Katherine Van Winkle and passed away on February 5, 2007 at his residence. He was a carpenter and played bass in a local band. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mexia. He is survived by his mother, Mary Katherine Compton VanWinkle, Sons: Christopher VanWinkle of Mexia and Jamie VanWinkle and wife, Sally of Tulsa, Oklahoma, grandson, Jagger VanWinkle, sister, Kathy McNeal and brother in law, Tommie Reed of Mexia. He was preceded in death by his wife peggy in 1995 and by his father, Curtis VanWinkle in 2006.
