David was born on May 20, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to Jerald and Kathryn Sue (Bell) McHargue. He owned and operated convenience stores in Irving and Grand Prairie for many years. Being in this type of business required working long hours, a lot of work, and good customer service, David fit the role perfectly as he was a hard worker and he loved socializing with people.
In his leisure time, David enjoyed spending time on his ranch in Richland and enjoying the peace and quiet of the country. He also loved to cook, barbecue, and have parties for his family and friends. He liked to watch old westerns and the Hallmark Christmas movies.
Although David’s business kept him busy, he always found time to spend with his family, they came first in his life. He attended and was very supportive of the activities in which his children and grandchildren were involved. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerald and Kathryn McHargue; sister, Denise Gillentine; and brother, Paul McHargue.
David is survived by his wife, Beverly McHargue of Richland; children, Crystal Tucker and husband, Donny of Kosse, Becky and husband, Jonathan Coon of Richland, and Trevor McHargue and fiancé, Lesley Wills of Richland; grandchildren, Bonnie and Paisley Tucker and Katelynn Coon; two nephews, Andrew McHargue and Matthew Isabell; and many friends he considered his extended family.
