David Thomas Shaw, 71, passed away at his home in Kosse, Texas on June 20, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, July 2, 2011 at T.G.'s, 7361 Highway 14 South, Kosse, Tx. David was born January 7, 1940 in Kannapolis, North Carolina to Thomas Cecil and Doris Rachel (Donahue) Shaw. He retired from MCI Worldcom-Communication after 25 years as a fiber optic inspector. He had lived in Kosse for over seven years. David married Jeanette Faye Matthews on April 23, 1958 at Central Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Vernon D. Shaw. David is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Kosse; two daughters, Tina M. Privett and husband, Randy D. and Gail L. Alberty and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Aaron R. Privett and wife, Candace, Matthew D. Privett and wife, Shyanne, Stephanie F. Hardy, Travis E. Hardy, Kendall Alberty and Landen Alberty; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Rylee and Ryder J. Privett; sister, Lydia Sell of Pasadena; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Shaw. Do not run the race like a man running aimlessly. To win, every racing team has a goal, a purpose and a plan for winning. Life is like a race.
