Dennis H. Savage

Dennis Savage passed away December 10, 2024 in Mexia, Texas at the age of 86. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Blackmon officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Honorary pallbearer will be Sonny Bowden.

Dennis was born April 26, 1938 in Marathon, Iowa to Elvin Glenn and Alma Ester (Price) Savage. After graduating Mexia High School, Dennis married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Mansell, on August 15, 1958 in Mexia. He served three years in the United States Army. He worked five years for Lone Star Gas prior to going to work for Southwestern Electric Service Company where he retired with 33 years of service, serving as Line Foreman for the last 19 yrs. 

Dennis was a hard worker; he had to keep busy. He was always working around the house, cleaning cars or creating a project of some type. He enjoyed playing golf and after retiring, he and Sandra joined a square-dancing club and traveled wherever there was a square dance.  During his  lifetime and love for traveling, he accomplished seeing every state in the United States. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Alma Savage.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons, Alan Savage and wife, Donna and Stan Savage and wife, Paige; grandchildren, Madison Hess and husband, Nolan, Kennedie Sharpe and husband, Graham, Grant Savage, Macy Savage, Rachel Hamilton and husband, Jantzen, and Michael Savage; great grandchildren, Jhett and Jaxx Hamilton; cousin, Doris Broden; their extended family, Andy, Jim and Jill Fife.
