Dixie McSpedden

Memorial services for Dixie Thorne McSpedden, 70, of Mexia will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008 in Forest Glade Baptist Church. Rev. Bruce Rudd, Rev. Darryl Hatley and Rev. Wes Willie will officiate. Mrs. McSpedden was born August 16, 1937 in Luling, Texas to Joe Bailey and Edna Merle (Cone) Thorne and passed away on March 3, 2008 in Providence Hospital in Waco. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Choir member, and involved in Nursing Home Ministry and member of the Point Enterprise Baptist Church. She was employed at Mexia State School as recreational therapist. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Red McSpedden in 2006, and two brothers, Bobby and Billy Thorne. Mrs. McSpedden is survived by her daughter and son in law: Debra Jo and Billy Don York of Mexia, 3 grandchildren, Erica Don York and Ken David York, both Of Mexia and Joe Kyle York of College Station, six brothers, Clyde Thorne, Malcolm Thorne, Jimmy Thorne, Donald Thorne, Larry Thorne and David Thorne. Honorary pallbearers will be Randall Bryan, Richard Johnson, Miles Skipper, Waylan Hatfield, Joe Montgomery, Jay Gatlin, Marcus Wilson and Devon Fortson. .
