Dixie Mills

Dixie Leone Mills, 76, of Mexia passed away June 30, 2011 in Groesbeck, Texas. Graveside services will be 10 AM, Saturday, July 2, 2011 in the Cotton Gin Cemetery with Rev. Larry Holden officiating. Dixie was born January 27, 1935 in Teague, Texas to James Douglas and Edith (Williams) Neale. She had been a resident of Mexia for many years. She was a homemaker and a caregiver, having worked ten years in home health care. She and Billy Frank Mills married on July 30, 1951 in Benton, Arkansas. Dixie never met a stranger; she was very friendly and outgoing. She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents. Dixie is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Billy F. of Mexia; two sons, James Douglas Mills of Teague and Paul Mills and wife, Lana of Waco; grandchildren, William Giles Mills, Jason and Rhonda Mills and Jamie and David Padro; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Hugh Fredrick Neale and wife, Patsy of Teague and Douglas Leslie Neale and wife, Faye of Waco. Pallbearers will be Giles Mills, Jason Mills, Paul Mills, Fred Neale, David Padro, Jamie Mills, Douglas Neale and Doug Mills.
