Donald Morgan

Donald Roy Morgan, 82, of Donie, passed away November 24, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia with Rev. Ottis Byers officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Donald was born August 19, 1931 in Crockett, Texas to Alvin DeWitt and Eva Amanda Brown Morgan. He married, the love of his life, Jonnie Kate McCoslin on July 23, 1955 in Rosenberg, Texas. He retired from A T & T after 34 years in an Executive office. Donald served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a Master Mason and member of Park Place No. 1172 for 50 plus years. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Brandon Turner; and brothers, Nolan DeWitt Morgan and Alvin Brown Morgan. Donald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jonnie Morgan of Donie; children, Mark Morgan and wife, Patty of Donie, Wade Morgan and wife, Laurie of Conroe and Melissa Morgan of Montgomery; grandchildren, Matthew Waymon Morgan, Jace Morgan, Brittany Morgan and Ty Rawls; great-grandchildren, Landon Roy Turner and Adalynn Morgan; one brother, Henry Alexander Morgan; three sisters, Eloise McCaskill, Billie Jean Doyle and Jacqueline Berch; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Matthew Morgan, Jace Morgan, Ty Rawls, John Morgan, Bobby Harold Robinson and Joseph McCoslin.
