Dora Gladys Harrison, 90, of Coolidge (formerly of Mexia) passed away April 18, 2009 in Mexia. Funeral services for Mrs. Harrison will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Coolidge. Rev. Chuck Sturgeon will officiate with interment to follow in the Coolidge Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia. Dora was born to Benjamin and Tedie Elizabeth McCormick January in Lampasas, Texas on August 6, 1918. She has lived most of her life in the Limestone County area. Dora was very active in civic and social affairs in Mexia for many years. She was a former member of the Pink Ladies at the Mexia Hospital and also, the Lampasas Hospital. Dora devoted her life to loving and caring for her family. She treasured and enjoyed spending time with her many friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coolidge. Dora was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by two sons, Bert L. Harrison, Sr. and wife Glenna of Mexia and Jan K. Harrison, also of Mexia; daughter-in-law, Betty Harrison of Tehuacana; grandchildren, Stacy Park of Weatherford, Bert L. Harrison, Jr., Jon Harrison and wife, Jaime, James Harrison and wife, Kelly, Walt Harrison and wife, Karen all of Mexia, and Crystal Dunn and husband, Michael of Wortham; great-grandchildren, Rachel, Taylor and Aiden Park of Weatherford, Landry and Evan Harrison, Karson and Gracie Harrison all of Mexia and Aubrie Ann Dunn of Wortham. Pallbearers will be Bert Lynn Harrison, Jr., Jon Harrison, James Harrison, Walt Harrison, Michael Dunn and Connie Mack Hancock. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
