Dorothy Janette Anderson, 77, of Mexia passed away February 9, 2011 in Waco. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2011 at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Dorothy was born September 12, 1933 in Hillsboro, Texas to Wallace Marvin and Lucy Iola (Taylor) Daily. She graduated from Itasca High School in 1950. She married James H. Anderson on February 8, 1952 in Hillsboro. She had been a resident of Mexia for the past 54 years. Dorothy retired from the First Mexia Bank after 28 years of service. She is remembered as a sweet, soft spoken and gracious lady. Her love for God and her family was evident in her life. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gerry Don; granddaughter, Amanda Gayle; sister, Kathleen Schmidt; and son-in-law, Duane Pippin. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 59 years, James of Mexia; son, James Anderson, Jr. and wife, Susan of Mexia; daughters, Valerie Lynn Anderson of Spring and Angela Gayle Pippin of Denton; grandchildren, Windy Anderson Barnard and husband, Rick, Micah Anderson and wife, Brooke; Paige and Cody Pippin; great-grandchildren, Chapin and Peyton Barnard; brothers, Marvin Daily of Hurst, Gerald Daily of Itasca, James Daily of Forney and Larry Daily of Spring; sister, Diane Pritchit of Conroe. Pallbearers will be Windy Barnard, Rick Barnard, Micah Anderson, Brooke Anderson, Paige Pippin and Cody Pippin.
