Dorothy Davis

Dorothy Irene Davis, 87, passed away July 11, 2011 in Mexia, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Calvary First Baptist Church in Mesquite with Rev. Nolan Richie and Rev. James Shenrock officiating. Interment will follow in Long Creek Cemetery in Sunnyvale. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 PM, Tuesday, at Laurel Oakes Funeral Home in Mesquite. Dorothy was born November 11, 1923 in Dallas, Texas to Easmon and Willie Mae (Mathis) Gault. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Dallas after 22 years of service as a safety officer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Davis, Sr.; son, Ronnie Davis; and daughter, Sherry Davis. Survivors include sons, Gordon Davis of Wortham, Ken Davis of Sunnyvale and Dwayne Davis of Cocolalla, Idaho; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother E.V. Gault of Havasu City, Arizona; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brian Davis, Justin Davis, Joel Heigenfeldt, John Barnes, Gary Davis and Steve Davis.
