Dr. Kenneth Lane was born in Joplin, Missouri on October 6, 1926, lived to the age of 93, and passed from this life on May 14, 2020. He served in WW II in the U. S. Navy as a signalman. He attended the University of Iowa and was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He then received his doctorate from the Illinois College of Podiatry. While studying in Chicago, he met his beloved, Mary Ann Meinecke, to whom he was married for 65 wonderful years.
Kenneth established and maintained his podiatry practice in the St. Louis area. After 40 years he enjoyed retirement to the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri and later to Mexia, Texas, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and Waco, Texas. He was a devout Christian and always an active church member, serving in a variety of ways; clerk of session, leader for the youth group, and even Vacation Bible School. Dr. Lane also had a wide variety of hobbies. He enjoyed carving wood figures, especially Santa Claus. He was a member of Blacksmith Association of Missouri and the Limestone County Barnstompers Square Dance Club. He taught two generations of children to water ski, drive a boat and fish off a dock. He was a life-long learner and was always honing new skills. In fact, he was the oldest registered EMT in Texas.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; son, Rev. Kenneth Edward Lane, III and wife Cynthia, daughter, Kimberly Lane; grandchildren, Katie Beth and Matthew Lane-Willis, Spencer Lane, Austin Lane, and Tiffany Lane; great grandchildren, Torean Edward Willis and Arianna Everlee Willis.
