Mr. Duward Woodrow Stewart, 91 of Mexia passed away Sunday August 28, 2005 in Mexia. Mr. Stewart was born March 22, 1914 in Mexia to William Patrick and Ora Daisy McDonald Stewart. Mr. Stewart married Zillah Ellen Strong in 1934 and at the time of her death in 2003 they had been married 69 years. Mr. Stewart retired from the welding and boilermaker business and moved back to Mexia in 1976. He was a faithful member of the Temple Baptist Church in Mexia. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons - Duward W. Stewart, Jr. and William Lawrence "Larry" Stewart and by his brothers and sisters - William Manning Stewart, Howard G. Stewart, Mable Mathis and Rita Towers. Survivors include his daughters - Sylvia Morgan and her husband James of Livingston, Carolyn Hinchliffe and her husband Donnie of Mexia - 9 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great Great Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at the Temple Baptist Church in Mexia, with the Reverend Michael Vestal officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Family visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 pm at Blair-Stubbs funeral home in Mexia. Pallbearers will be grandsons - Mike Morgan, Keith Morgan, Craig Morgan, David Morgan, Roger Boyer II, Donnie L. Hinchliffe, Duane Hinchliffe and Glen Andrus.
