Edith Castlow

Edith Lorraine Castlow, 88, of Thornton passed away June 10, 2012 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 11AM, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia with Mr. Sam Walton officiating. Interment will follow in the Norwood Cemetery in Hearne, Texas. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Edith was born December 22, 1923 in Fresno, California to George Washington Copeland, Sr. and Zola Mae Hamm Copeland. She had been a resident of Thornton for 34 years. Edith was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She loved spending time with her family, they were her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin Castlow; sons, Martin and Raymond Castlow; grandsons, Samuel Castlow, Jose Rivera and Samuel York; four sisters; and three brothers. Edith is survived by her children, Robbie Castlow and companion, Michelle of Jewett, Gaston "Fred" Castlow of Thornton, Nancy Arredondo and husband, Emilio of Wortham, Gloria Jarvis and husband, Roy of Jewett; Brenda Walton and husband, Sam of Thornton, Larry Castlow of Thornton, Shirley Castlow of Dayton, Virginia "Jack" Towery of Thornton and Randy Castlow and companion, Ashley of Thornton; 33 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gaston Castlow, Martin Castlow, C. T. Castlow, Joshua Cobb, Randall Jarvis, Chris Walton, Buddy Walton and Randy Castlow. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Lee Jarvis, Jonathan Rivera, C. J. Taylor and Terrence Gude.
