Funeral services for Edith Foley Curran of Longview, and formerly of San Francisco, will be held December 31st 2:00 p.m. at Blair Stubbs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Curran passed away December 29, 2012 at a local nursing home. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Longview. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Edith was born January 29, 1924, in a small community near Jewett, TX, to Lydia and Dock Foley. She and her husband, David, lived in San Francisco for 45 years where she was a supervisor in the benefits department for Chevron Corp. until her retirement in 1986. They were blessed to travel extensively and made friends all over the world before moving back to Texas in 2003 to be near family. Mrs. Curran was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, David; and all six siblings. Left to cherish her memory are nine nieces, three nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff of Buckner Holly House, Summer Meadows, and HeartsWay Hospice for their amazing care and concern. Also, we give our thanks to caregivers and family friends, Mrs. Vangie Moreno and Mrs. Carla Jones, whom we can never thank enough. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the charity of your choice.
