Edna Faye Hancock entered the Kingdom of Heaven September 4, 2010 after a long and beautiful life. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 10 AM in the Shiloh Baptist Church of Shiloh, Texas with Brother David Snow officiating. Internment will be 3 PM Thursday at the Kilgore Memorial Gardens in Kilgore Texas. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. She was born to farmers John Richard and Dovie Durst on February 21, 1927, where she grew up on the wild Texas Plains of Collin County. After a whirlwind courtship, she was married to Robert Lesley Hancock Sept 10, 1950 he left this earth July 21, 1998; and she now joins him in Heaven. She is survived by: Her three inspired children and their spouses: Lesley Faye Witherspoon and son-in-law Mark Witherspoon of Seattle, Washington, Rebecca Lee Snow and son-in-law David Snow of Shiloh, Texas; and Thomas Wayne Hancock III and daughter-in-law Gina Gallina Hancock of Kingsland, Texas; Her beloved grandchildren: SSgt. Joshua Hancock and wife Lisa of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Andrew Hancock and wife Miriam of Rural Pennsylvania; SSgt. Roxanne (Snow) Morris and husband Jim of Eglin AFB, Florida; Daniel Snow of Shiloh, Texas; Sean, Alex, Chaya, Isaac and Elijah Witherspoon of Seattle, Washington; Her adored great-grandchildren: Nathan, Caleb, Sophie and Matthew Hancock of North Carolina; Austin and Brady Parmenter of Maine; Her wonderful sisters: Johnnie Sue Cunningham of Wylie, Texas; Huelene Shewbirt and Rita Arey of Hope, Arkansas; Her kind brother-in-law Thomas Wayne Hancock II, wife Doris, and daughters Jan and Jean of Dallas; Her fabulous cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws and out-laws, all of whom were the finest ever; Her devoted Brothers and Sisters in Christ from Shiloh Baptist Church in Shiloh, Texas. She loved you all!
