Edward Smith

Mr. Edward Lee Benjamin Smith, 65, of Mexia, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Waco. Edward was born April 21, 1946 in Mexia to Lee Benjamin and Lois Bell Clendenen Smith. He had lived in Mexia most of his life and had been in the Truck Driving industry. He was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Mexia. Survivors include his wife, Jayne Slaughter Smith of Mexia, Sons, Steven Edward Smith of Temple and Rev. Robert Paul Smith of Fairfield, Step-sons, Christopher James Baker of Mexia, Matthew Aaron Baker of Omaha , NE, Michael Wayne Baker of Henderson and Jeffery Dean Baker of Mexia, 14 grandchildren, brother, Billy Smith of Mexia and four sisters, Barbara Cox of Mexia, Marilyn Meazelle of Mexia, Vicky Ward of Mexia and Betty Sterling of Millican. Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Mexia with the Rev. David Bolden, Rev. Paul Moore and Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
