Elizabeth Melvin

Catherine Elizabeth Melvin, 69, passed away April 4, 2015 at her home in Fairfield. In honor of her wishes, there will be no service. Elizabeth was born September 18, 1945 to Roy Eugene and Margaret Miller in Houston, Texas. On June 10, 1962, Elizabeth married the love of her life, Grover "Buddy" Melvin; she devoted her life to caring for him and their four children. Elizabeth had a big heart; she loved people and was always ready and willing to help anyone in any way possible. Her kind, unselfish, caring and giving ways exemplified a Christian who truly loved the Lord. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 52 years, Buddy Melvin of Fairfield; children, Margaret Melvin, Bubba Melvin, Billie Melvin and Eric Melvin; grandchildren, Amanda Drake of Fairfield and Annie and Shane Melvin of MS; sister, Shirley Russell and husband, Marvin of GA; brother, Roy Miller and wife Karen of Houston; a number of nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Fairfield, Texas.
