Ellen was born on September 15, 1946 in Brownwood, Texas to Jessey Columbus and Edna Mae (Webster) Davis. She was a cashier for the Exxon Station in Fairfield for three years.
Ellen’s life revolved around her family, there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. One of her main goals in life was to be able to watch her children, grands, and great grands grow up and go to college; she wanted love, happiness, and the best of everything in life for them. She was also a devoted Christian; after moving to Mexia, she attended the Assembly of God Church.
Ellen also enjoyed growing flowers, playing cards, and games. She learned and encouraged others to “never put things off until tomorrow, what you could do today”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessey and Edna Davis; and four siblings.
Ellen is survived by her son, James “Jimmy” Williams of Fairfield; daughter, Tammy Self and husband, Chris of Waco; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Miller of Mexia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
