Graveside services for Elmer Daniel Russell, 81 of Snyder will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007 in Pt. Enterprise Cemetery. Robert Spencer will officiate with interment following in Pt. Enterprise Cemetery. Mr. Russell was born October 12, 1925 in Groesbeck to Elmer O. and Ethel Mae (Williams) Russell and passed away on March 11, 2007 in Lubbock. Since 1958 he was a farmer/rancher and prior to that worked for Humble Oil Company. He served in the U. S. Marine Corp during World War II in the South Pacific Theatre of operation. He was a member of the Santa Gertrudis Breeder International since 1987. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Mae (Spencer) Russell of Snyder, daughters and sons in law: Janet and Jimmy Stribling of Fluvanna, Carolyn and Sam Kitching of Ft. Worth; grandchildren: Justin Stribling and wife, Candace; Dana Stribling and Annie Stribling; Laren Kitching and husband, Tanner and great grandson : Jace Stribling; Brothers: James A. Russell of Hebron, Maryland, Paul Russell of Mexia and Virgil Russell of Wortham; sisters: Maxine McMahon of Mexia and Ruby Randall of Chandler; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Eva Mae Powell and brother, Henry Lee Russell.
