Evelyn Moore

Evelyn Gore Moore, 90, of Mexia passed away February 20, 2012 in Corsicana, Texas. Graveside services will be 3PM, Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in the Mexia Cemetery with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6-7:30 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Evelyn was born November 13, 1921 in Buffalo, Texas to Albert and Selma Stevens Gore. She retired from the Mexia State School after 20 years as an Administrative Assistant. She was an avid artist and taught painting for many years. She loved spending time with her family and going to the country. Some of her happiest times were spent with family and friends at their farm. Evelyn was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of over 52 years, Lindsey Richard Moore; and daughter, Pamela Moore Bowen. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Moore Splawn and husband, Bill; granddaughters, Tracy Bowen Hancock and husband, Michael and Christi Nicole Ridge; and great-grandchildren, Lindsey Marie Hancock, Samantha Katelyn Cooper, Kendal Madeline Cooper and Nicholas Andon Aase.
