It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Francisco A. Contreras, who tragically lost his life in a work accident on May 9, 2024. His sudden departure has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Francisco was born on November 6, 1961 in Fresnillo Zacatecas, Mexico to Miguel and Apolonia Contreras. He dedicated 24 years to ARCOSA Streetman LWT Plant. Francisco was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where through his dedication he became a Fourth Degree Knights of Colombus. Family was his passion which included his wife, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed high school football, and his favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys.
Francisco is survived by his wife of 42 years MaryKatherine Contreras; children, Miguel (Molly) Contreras of Burleson, TX, Francisco (Brandi) Contreras of Mexia, TX, Margarita (Aaron) Wright of Grandbury, TX, and Katherine (John) McClinton of Robinson, TX; grandchildren, Maverick Contreras, Mason Contreras, Francisco Contreras, Jr., Ariel Contreras, Brielle Contreras, Kristine McClinton, and Violet Contreras; brothers, Antonio (Adriana) Contreras, Roberto ( Margarita) Contreras, and Guadalupe Contreras; sisters, Anita Contreras, Graciela Contreras, Micaela Contreras, and Maria Contreras; also, numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Apolonia Contreras; parents-in-law, Leon and Sharon Parsons; brother, Lino Contreras; and sister, Juana Contreras.
In the wake of this tragic loss, we find solace in the cherished memories and the enduring legacy Francisco leaves behind. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. James Gadberry, Greg Gadberry, Rick Collatos, Steve Dossett, Ryan Hall, and Dennis Rischer will serve as pallbearers.
