Franklin Logan

Franklin “Frank” D. Logan, 78, of Mexia, passed away on September 10, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Frank was born August 28, 1943 in Groesbeck, Texas to Thomas Landon and Ruby Helen (Nichols) Logan. After high school, he received a Masters Degree in Education.  In addition to teaching and working at the Mexia State School, he was a Farmer/Rancher, something he thoroughly enjoyed.  His favorite place, to be, was at his ranch riding the mule around looking at the livestock and sitting in his lawn chair underneath the big oak tree.

Frank loved his family and the Lord.  His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren always knew if they needed anything, all they had to do was call him.  His life revolved around his family.  Frank was also a friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruby Logan; sons, Franklin D. Logan, Jr. and Jason Dee Logan; brother, Landon Gene Logan; and sister, Reba Faye Galbreath.

Frank is survived by his three daughters, Laurie Simmons and husband, Walter of Groesbeck, Donna Good and husband, David of Mexia, and Wendy Hileman and husband, Richard of Mexia; grandchildren, Chase Simmons, Kerri Simmons, Miranda Jones, Hillary Adams, Hailey Heller, Landry Heller, Rowdy Good, Heather Hileman, Kestyn Webster, Shelby Hileman, and Brittany Tull; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Staley of Valley Mills and Rita Holton of Waco; and numerous nieces and nephews.

“To all our friends and family, we will be planning a private outdoor family memorial for our Daddy, Frank Logan.  At this time, we don’t feel that Daddy would want the people who cared about him and who he loved to endanger their lives by having a gathering with lots of people who could be asymptomatic.  Please take precautions and stay safe.  This is affecting almost every family.  Daddy would be upset about anyone wasting money on flowers, anyway, so please send donations to your favorite charity or put a little extra in the offering plate at your church in his memory instead.  Thank you for understanding and God bless.  Daddy is finally where he’s worked his whole life to get to.”
