Freddie Gean Dabney passed away April 13, 2018 in Mexia at the age of 80. A time to visit and celebrate his life with the family will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, from 4-6 p.m. at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Freddie was born September 2, 1937 in Mexia, Texas. Mexia has been his home for his entire life. He worked for Dick Scott Ford and Beene Motors prior to opening his own auto body repair shop. Freddie was known for doing an excellent job in repairing automobiles; he was very meticulous and strived to do a good job. Freddie married his loving wife, Bobby Anglen, on December 12, 1959 in Mexia; they were blessed with two sons, Steven and Shad. He cherished his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His favorite time with the grandchildren was spent "hanging out" on the back porch. When he had the opportunity, he also enjoyed fishing and remodeling old cars. Freddie was easy going, friendly and always smiling. He will be remembered as being a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Hyde. Freddie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bobby Dabney of Mexia; sons, Steven Dabney and wife, Leana of Mexia and Shad Dabney and wife, JoAnn of Mexia; grandchildren, Shane Dabney and wife, Haley, Tera Dabney, Dillon Dabney and wife, Destiny, Shade Dabney and wife, Mattie; great-grandchildren, Emma, Kamdin and Revan; brother, Stanley "Bud" Gregory; sisters, Bettie Combs, Dorothy Pevehouse and Brenda Kennedy; and a number of nieces and nephews.
