Garner Simmons

Mr. Garner E. Simmons, 85 of Teague passed away Friday September 30, 2005 in Mexia. Mr. Simmons was born March 6, 1920 in Turkey, Texas. He was a lifelong Methodist. Mr. Simmons had owned and operated Harrell's Cleaners in Dallas and after moving to Teague began a ranching operation. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday October 2, 2005 at the Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel in Teague with the Reverend Jeff Powers and the Reverend Ed Grimmett officiating. The interment will follow in the Greenwood cemetery in Teague with Masonic Graveside Rites. Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife - Mrs. Ruth Simmons of Teague, Two sons - Kenneth Simmons and wife Janet of Garland, Ellis Garner (Joe) Simmons, Jr. and wife Karen of San Francisco, CA., his sister - Wilma Harlan of Seagoville, 4 grandchildren - Kevin Simmons and Kyle Simmons of Dallas, Hayden Simmons and Jessica Simmons of San Francisco, 5 Great Grandchildren, 2 Step-Daughters - Linda Roberts of Jacksonville and Patti Cromeens of Teague. Several Step-Grandchildren and step Great Great Grandchildren.
